Taiwanese Style on New Year’s Day

Comedo ergo sum—I eat, therefore I am.

On New Year’s Day, we had a Taiwanese-style brunch—rice balls with cheese, a Taiwanese egg pancake roll with basil, and turnip cakes with eggs—at a place established in 1965. The place right across from it has Taiwanese short ribs in soup, which looks pretty good.

As for dinner, we had mustard green chicken soup—it is so delicious. In addition, the sesame oil vermicelli is very outstanding.
